Who is WalkArlington?

Welcome to WalkArlington! We’re dedicated to making Arlington County, Virginia, a place where everyone is able to walk easily, comfortably, and safely. Explore our walking tours and events, discover self-guided routes, stay updated on local pedestrian projects, and find resources to support better walking in our community.

As part of Arlington County Commuter Services (ACCS), a bureau of the Department of Environmental Services, WalkArlington promotes active transportation modes such as walking, biking, and rolling. Since 2009, we’ve collaborated with citizens, businesses, and County departments to offer outreach programs that support Arlington’s vision of an equitable transportation system, enhancing the quality of life for those who live, work, and visit here.

The WalkArlington team hosts walk events and meetups year-round with community partners to highlight the benefits of walking in Arlington, one of the most walkable districts in the country. From trail cleanups to on- and off-trail hikes, these free or affordable events offer a great way to explore Arlington’s vibrant, pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods.
